Hope

Hope connects us to our future.  It can be thought of as feeling optimistic that you can accomplish your goals through you own actions if you work at what you need to do to move yourself closer to them. It is not a false belief that you will succeed at all imagined goals, but rather knowing that you can influence the direction of your life if you are willing to learn, grow and adapt.  A successful future in recovery is reinforced by hopeful thinking.

“Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all the darkness.”

– Desmond Tutu
